Although the impact of this decision might not be noticeable right away, it certainly makes a difference quite swiftly. If you manage to release Ilora from Fort Northreach Jail in Avowed, she will honor her promise by leading you to her ship, enabling both of you to make your way to Paradis. Furthermore, Ilora will support you during the confrontation against Steadman Ralke before we reach the boat, and she reappears in the subsequent ‘Escape Plan’ side mission.

If you choose to leave Ilora confined in the cell, she will ultimately break free and appear during the Steadman Ralke battle, acting as an extra foe and firing at you with a pistol. You’ll have to eliminate her too, but you can collect her Common Pistol, a one-handed ranged weapon, from her corpse afterwards. Break through that weak spot to descend into a room which was previously hidden behind a barred door.

In this room, you’ll spot the key to Fort Northreach Jail dangling from a shelf. Go ahead and take it, then unlock the door nearby to access the main area again. If you wish to free Ilora in Avowed, simply move towards the cell, interact with the door, and unlock it. I suggest doing so because it reduces one combat encounter, but the choice is yours.
