In the dim light, she caught sight of him momentarily amidst the stones. Yet, with her husband’s charred remains nearby, she had no time for pleasantries. Hurrying past the stones, she was determined to meet her objective – placing a Jacobite ruler upon the throne.
Given these circumstances, it’s understandable that Roger wasn’t remembered by Geillis. However, this gave Roger an opportunity to delve into her past. He discovered she was a direct ancestor of his, and he felt compelled to learn as much as possible about her. This information would be useful for a book he was writing for time travelers, aimed at helping Jemmy, Mandy, and their future offspring. Roger is preparing his children for this knowledge, wanting them to be well-equipped.
