What is Shiver Me Timbers about?
In the summer of 1986, Olive Oyl, her brother Castor, and their movie-loving friends head to Northern California for a unique camping trip. Their destination? A spot offering an incredible view of the meteor shower associated with Halley’s Comet. The evening begins peacefully, filled with starry skies and shared dreams. However, as the night progresses, the tranquil scene transforms into a chilling nightmare when one of those meteors unexpectedly changes Popeye from a regular character into an indomitable, bloodthirsty force to be reckoned with.
Titled “Shiver Me Timbers,” this upcoming film is the brainchild of director Paul Mann, who has drawn inspiration from the cherished animated series. The movie promises a blend of heart-pounding 80s slasher allusions and humorous surprises, all while honoring the timeless classics of the genre. Tony Greer and David Hallows will portray Popeye, with Paul Dwedney stepping into the role of Homeless George, Amy Mackie as Olive, Leona Roberts as Lizzy, and Paul Stephen Mann as Det. Zanaletto. The executive producers are Mann, Keith Montgomery, and Alastai Statha, while Eric Zapata takes on the producer’s role.
