Shia LaBeouf has been in the news lately due to sharing a personal email exchange between him and Timothée Chalamet on social media. More recently, LaBeouf spoke out on social media regarding rumors of a disagreement with Chalamet. This follows his comments about Chalamet’s SAG Awards speech that stirred up discussions online.
Shia Labeouf reveals private emails from Timothée Chalamet
On May 12th, Shia LaBeouf utilized social media platforms to offer a peek into his behind-the-scenes bond with Timothée Chalamet. Via X (previously Twitter), the actor disclosed a sequence of emails exchanged between them in October 2023. Accompanying the email exchange, LaBeouf quoted Rudyard Kipling’s “If.” Specifically, he wrote, “If you can endure to hear the truth you’ve spoken twisted by scoundrels to ensnare simpletons,” and added, “Timothée Chalamet is producing superior work compared to anyone currently living – we are on good terms.
If you’re able to accept the truth you’ve shared being distorted by deceitful people to ensnare the naive, Timothée Chalamet surpasses everyone in terms of his current acting prowess.

As I read the email, it was Timothée Chalamet reaching out, all fired up after catching Shia LaBeouf’s performance in the play Henry Johnson. He raved about the show being “completely electrifying” and hailed LaBeouf as the “monarch of your realm, even if that domain is a dismal 4×4 prison cell.” Chalamet was hopeful that the production would make its way to New York City. He ended the email with a wish, “I sincerely hope this is just the start of your theatrical journey and not a fleeting exception!
LaBeouf replied briefly yet affectionately. He said, “Thanks a lot, buddy. Sending you all my best wishes. It’s been great seeing you grow. Take charge. Keep going strong.” (Note: The phrase “bang bang” has been replaced with “keep going strong.”)
Recently, during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, LaBeouf referenced Chalamet’s speech at the 2025 SAG Awards where he mentioned wanting to be great. LaBeouf commented, “Then I hear Timothée Chalamet stand up and say something like, ‘I aspire to be remarkable.'” He further stated, “I fully understand that sentiment. On him, it’s endearing. On me, it wasn’t as appealing.
Amidst continuous legal disputes with his former girlfriend, FKA Twigs (who made accusations of abuse against him in 2020), LaBeouf posted this message. He has refuted these claims, and the trial is scheduled for sometime in 2025.
