As a lifestyle expert with a deep appreciation for cinema and its rich history, I find myself captivated by the unique bond between Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor in their upcoming film, Devara. Having had the privilege of witnessing the evolution of Indian cinema over the years, it’s truly remarkable to see a fresh pairing that carries such an uncanny resemblance to one of the most iconic actresses of all time – Sridevi.
Fans are excited about the novel collaboration between Jr NTR and Bollywood starlet Janhvi Kapoor. Their undeniable chemistry has already left audiences spellbound, as demonstrated in both the songs and the movie trailer. More recently, Jr NTR shared his observations on the strong similarities he sees between Janhvi and her mother, the late iconic actress Sridevi.
At the premiere gathering for the film Devara, Jr NTR reminisced on a specific story from the movie’s production. He shared an incident involving a look test that Janhvi had done. It was during this process that he observed how remarkably like Sridevi the upcoming actress appears.
Speaking about the late actress, Tarak commented, “She bore a striking resemblance to Sridevi. In certain views, she was almost identical to her. We attempted to convey some of that similarity in our shots, but I don’t believe it can be fully captured through angles. However, it’s more about how she acts or smiles – those aspects evoke memories of Sridevi.
After listening to him, Janhvi Kapoor couldn’t contain her feelings and promptly shared how working in the Telugu film industry felt strikingly familiar and comforting to her. She further explained, “It seems odd for me to say this, but when I act and speak in Telugu, it feels as if I’m back home. I’m not sure if you understand what I mean, but it just feels more like home to me.
Sridevi was a highly respected and iconic actress in Indian cinema, known for her captivating performances not just in Bollywood but also in several Tamil and Telugu films. She worked alongside some of the most illustrious actors in history, such as Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Chiranjeevi, NT Rama Rao, Venkatesh, Kamal Haasan, among others.
As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share that I was privileged to witness the extraordinary career of Sridevi, who graced over 93 Telugu films and garnered numerous accolades. Interestingly, she made her debut in the South cinema industry as a young artist. Regrettably, we lost this exceptional actress in 2018.
Moving on to the upcoming movie of Jr NTR titled “Devara,” the filmmakers are gearing up for a theater release on September 27, 2024. There’s already a great deal of excitement surrounding the film’s premiere. The film is under the direction of Koratala Siva and features music by Anirudh Ravichander.
In addition to Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor, this movie features an ensemble cast that includes Saif Ali Khan, Shruti Marathe, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, Narain, and other talented actors.
