As a gamer who’s been through countless hours of gaming worlds, I can confidently say that stepping into Hawkins once more feels like returning home. The news of Shawn Levy directing for Stranger Things Season 5 is as exciting as unlocking a hidden level in my favorite game.
Director Shawn Levy, known for directing Deadpool and Wolverine, is deeply engrossed in significant tasks as per the recently released images from the set of Stranger Things Season 5, which fans are eagerly awaiting.
Behind-the-scenes images, directly from the director, depict Duffer Hangout (informal term for Levy) socializing with the Stranger Things actors such as Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin, and Gaten Matarazzo. The final image emphasizes the director’s seat bearing Levy’s name in the signature Stranger Things typography.

Is Shawn Levy directing an episode of Stranger Things Season 5?
Earlier this year, it became known that Levy is set to direct at least one episode for the fifth and last season of Stranger Things. Photos taken on set suggest that he’s already begun working on the series.
Levy is no stranger to Hawkins, having previously directed a few episodes of Seasons 1 to 4. In addition to directing, Levy also served as one of the show’s executive producers.
The filming for Stranger Things’ fifth season commenced earlier this year, despite initial plans for it to start last year. Unfortunately, delays occurred due to industry-wide strikes in Hollywood, pushing back the production timeline for more than half a year.
The main actors from the previous seasons will go back to Hawkins for the conclusion of the Upside Down storyline. Among them are Brown as El, McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Sink as Max Mayfield, Ferguson as Erica Sinclair, Hawke as Robin Buckley, Keery as Steve Harrington, Schnapp as Will Byers, Ryder as Joyce Byers, Harbour as Jim Hopper, Heaton as Jonathan Byers, and Dyer as Nancy Wheeler.
Jamie Campbell Bower will also return as the show’s villain, Vecna.
The specific launch date for Stranger Things’ last season hasn’t been announced yet, but it will definitely air on Netflix in 2025. You can currently watch all four seasons of Stranger Things on the streaming service.
