As a die-hard fan of all things British comedy and zombie-related, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the upcoming 4K release of Shaun of the Dead! It’s been a staple in my DVD collection since its release in 2004, and now, on its 20th anniversary, I get to relive the glory days with stunning visuals and immersive sound.


To mark its 20th anniversary, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has disclosed the upcoming 4K and Blu-ray launch dates for the re-mastered edition of the legendary zombie comedy “Shaun of the Dead,” directed by Edgar Wright and starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

In every gamer’s life, there comes a day when you’ve got to rise from the comfort of your gaming chair… and obliterate some undead horde. It’s my turn to step up and protect my loved ones from being turned into the main course by ravenous zombies. Quench your thirst for action with the movie that has both horror masters and film critics raving as a riotously funny zombie comedy that will leave you rolling on the floor laughing until you drop!

When is the Shaun of the Dead 4K release date?

Beginning December 3, 2024, you’ll have the chance to buy the upgraded version of Shaun of the Dead in digital format, 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray with Dolby Vision and advanced Dolby Atmos sound. As a special treat, this release will come packaged with a SteelBook edition, limited in quantity. Furthermore, previously unreleased bonus content will be accessible for the first time on selected digital platforms like Apple TV, Movies Anywhere, and Fandango at Home.

2004 saw the release of a movie called “Shaun of the Dead,” directed by Edgar Wright and co-written with Simon Pegg. This film kickstarted Wright’s trilogy, a series of action comedies known as the Cornetto trilogy, featuring Pegg and Nick Frost. The sequels to this movie were “Hot Fuzz” in 2007 and “The World’s End” in 2013. Actors like Kate Ashfield, Lucy Davis, Dylan Moran, Bill Nighy, Penelope Wilton, Jessica Stevenson, Peter Serafinowicz, and Rafe Spall were part of the cast alongside Pegg and Frost.
