It’s been announced that Shakira has scrapped her scheduled performance on February 24th in Medellin, Colombia, as part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. The show has been postponed to an unspecified future date due to undisclosed reasons. This sudden change has left fans who were eagerly anticipating the concert in a state of surprise and curiosity. This cancellation follows a previous one in Lima, Peru, which was attributed to health concerns.
Here are all the details on Shakira’s Colombia concert cancellation.
Why did Shakira postpone Colombia concert?
As a devoted fan, I’ve got to share that unfortunately, Shakira had to postpone the Colombia concert due to a safety concern stemming from damage to the stage’s roof, which was the work of the local production crew. This information comes directly from Paramo Presenta, as confirmed in their statement, originally released in Spanish.
While setting up the stage for our upcoming show on February 24, an unfortunate incident occurred: the local production team’s stage roof was damaged, potentially jeopardizing the safety of the performer, their crew, and primarily, the attendees.
Furthermore, the promoter confirmed they were collaborating with Shakira and her crew to rearrange the date for the Medellin concert. “We recognize that this decision might cause inconvenience for those eagerly waiting for the event,” they mentioned. “However, the paramount concern is everyone’s safety.
Shakira, too, spoke about the cancellation via her social media platforms. She penned, “The pain is immense for me not to be able to perform on stage and sing for you, dear people of Medellín, as much as I truly desired to.” [X represents the specific platform where she posted this message]
Additionally, she shared that her kids were thrilled about discovering Medellin. Through a social media post on Instagram, the artist verified they were accompanying her in Colombia.
Beyond this, Shakira expressed her apologies for the cancellation and emphasized that the predicament was beyond her control. The performer subsequently pledged to arrange a fresh date for the Medellin show and extended gratitude to fans for their backing.
