Shah Rukh Khan voices Mufasa in the new The Lion King Hindi trailer

In the wake of Disney’s 2019 live-action release The Lion King, the upcoming movie titled Mufasa: The Lion King serves as both a prelude and continuation to the original story. Under the direction of Barry Jenkins, the narrative delves deeper into the beloved realm by centering on Mufasa’s younger days. The teaser showcases the tale of a young orphaned lion named Mufasa and his sibling, Taka, who eventually transforms into the notorious Scar. Their escapades, combined with an assortment of other captivating characters, drive this new cinematic endeavor.

In the Hindi adaptation of the movie, Shah Rukh Khan re-enacts his character as Mufasa, a role he initially voiced in the 2019 remake. His sons, Aryan Khan and AbRam, also contribute significantly to the story: Aryan Khan lends his voice to the older Simba, while AbRam voices the younger Mufasa.

The prominent figure enthusiastically shared his feelings about the project, stating, “I find Mufasa to be an extraordinary character, embodying the greatest jungle king and passing on his knowledge to his son, Simba. I can strongly identify with him as a parent and understand his journey in the movie. This partnership with Disney is unique for me since my sons, Aryan and AbRam, are involved too, and being able to share this adventure with them holds great significance.”

In the cast of the Khan production, we have Shreyas Talpade taking on the role of Timon and Sanjay Mishra voicing Pumbaa. Save the date, December 20, 2024, as Mufasa: The Lion King premieres in India, with options to watch it in Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu!
