Shadow Force Release Date Delayed for Kerry Washington & Omar Sy Action Movie

Lionsgate has officially shifted the release date of the upcoming action-thriller “Shadow Force,” starring Emmy winner Kerry Washington as Kyrah and Golden Globe nominee Omar Sy as Isaac. This movie follows a former special forces couple who find themselves being pursued by their old team.

As a gamer, I’d rephrase it like this: “Back in the day, Kyrah and Isaac led an elite international special forces unit named Shadow Force. But when we fell for each other, we bent the rules. To shield our son from danger, we went into hiding. Now, with a massive price on our heads and the relentless Shadow Force chasing us, it’s not just our family’s battle – it’s a full-blown war.

When is the new Shadow Force release date?

Initially planned for a theater release on May 2, 2025, the film “Shadow Force” has been delayed by a week and is now set to premiere on May 9, 2025. This movie will be unveiled in the same month as several other notable films, including Marvel Studios’ “Thunderbolts”, Warner Bros.’ “Final Destination: Bloodlines”, Paramount Pictures’ “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning”, Disney’s “Lilot & Stitch”, and others.

Shadow Force is helmed by director Joe Carnahan, who collaborated with Leon Chills on the script. Alongside Washington and Sy, Mark Strong (from Shazam!), Da’Vine Joy Randolph (The Marauders), Cliff “Method Man” Smith (Power Book II: Ghost), Yoson An (Mulan), Natalia Reyes (Terminator: Dark Fate), Sala Baker (The Assassin), and others are part of the star-studded cast. Initially, this film was compared to the blockbuster hit Mr. & Mrs. Smith, offering a modernized spin on the 2005 action-comedy genre. Washington not only stars in the movie but also produces alongside Stephen “Dr.” Love and Sterling K. Brown. Originally, Sterling K. Brown was set to play the main role but eventually chose to produce instead.
