The formal trailer for Season 2 of Severance has been unveiled before its debut on Apple TV+, scheduled for January 17, 2025.
In the series Severance, character Mark Scout (Adam Scott) heads a group at Lumon Industries, where employees have undergone a procedure called ‘severance’ that separates their professional and personal memories through surgery. This innovative approach to work-life balance is challenged when Mark becomes embroiled in an unfolding mystery, compelling him to grapple with the realities of his job and his identity. In season two, Mark and his comrades discover the grave risks associated with meddling with the severance boundary, propelling them deeper into hardship.

What do we know about Severance Season 2?
In the second season of Severance, Adam Scott will return to play the character Mark Scout. The ensemble also features Britt Lower as Helly Riggs, Tramell Tillman as Seth Milchick, Zach Cherry as Dylan George, Jen Tullock as Devon Scout-Hale, Michael Chernus as Ricken Hale, Dichen Lachman as Ms. Casey, John Turturro as Irving Bailiff, Christopher Walken as Burt Goodman, and Patricia Arquette as Harmony Cobel.
Additionally, Sarah Bock, Gwendoline Christie, Bob Balaban, Merritt Wever, Alia Shawkat, Robby Benson, Stefano Carannante, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, and John Noble have been added to the cast for the upcoming season.
This season of the show is overseen as an executive producer by Ben Stiller, who additionally takes on the role of director for five episodes. Alongside him, Uta Bresiewitz, Sam Donovan, and Jessica Lee Gagné direct various episodes. The scripts for the series are penned by Erickson, while other executive producers include Erickson, Scott, Arquette, John Lesher, Jackie Cohn, Mark Friedman, Beau Willimon, Jordan Tappis, Sam Donovan, Caroline Baron, Richard Schwartz, and Nicholas Weinstock.
In its first run, Severance received 14 Emmy Award nominations. These included categories such as Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Scott), Outstanding Supporting Actors in a Drama Series for both Turturro and Walken, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (Arquette), and Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series (Stiller). It managed to secure wins in the categories of Outstanding Main Title Design and Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score).
