In the game of life’s latest episode (Severance Season 2 Episode 2), I, as John Turturro’s character, Irving, find myself standing before a vintage phone booth. As an Outie, I pick up the receiver and share a cryptic, intriguing message with the voice on the other end, leaving viewers guessing about my secrets.
Inquiry about Irving’s activities at the payphone during Severance Season 2 Episode 2 – let’s unravel this enigma together!
What was Irving doing at the phone booth in Severance Season 2 Episode 2?
Midway through Season 2 Episode 2, Irving’s counterpart steps into a phone booth for a call. Upon speaking with this person, he shared something that suggested collaboration or a plan involving his inner self, intended to reveal Lumon. He stated, “Alright, I see you’re not answering, that’s fine. Just wanted to let you know my inner self received the message,” he communicated.
It’s uncertain who Irving reached out to, but a potential person could be Reghabi. Reghabi is a former Lumon employee and surgeon who conducted the Severance process under their orders. However, she no longer works there and has been vocal in her opposition to the company.
Furthermore, it remains vague which specific message Irving might have been alluding to. Yet, these messages could potentially relate to what he experienced at the end of Season 1. In the finale, following MDR’s activation of the Overtime Protocol, Irving found himself in an apartment decorated with paintings depicting a foreboding hallway. It’s plausible that Irving may have been employing the paintings as a means of communication towards Reghabi or anyone else involved in his mission against Lumon.
Simultaneously, Irving was being followed by Burt (Christopher Walken). Burt is an employee from Lumon Optics and Design, with whom Irving’s inner self had a romantic history before Burt retired. It’s possible that Burt has been tailing Irving since the former’s inner self visited his residence in the Season 1 finale, attempting to rekindle their relationship.
At the moment, it’s not entirely certain what Irving’s scheme with his Innie entails. However, as we move forward and more episodes unfold, his intentions may become clearer.
