Seven Veils Trailer Sets Release Date for Amanda Seyfried Movie

XYZ Films unveiled the trailer for their upcoming opera drama, titled The Seven Veils, featuring Academy Award nominee Amanda Seyfried in the lead role. Before its cinema debut, the movie made its global premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival. Since then, it has garnered a Tomatometer score of 76% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Following a long absence, theater director Jeanine steps back into the opera scene to bring her old mentor’s most renowned piece to life. Tormented by haunting recollections from her past, Jeanine finds her traumatic experiences seeping into the present as both her personal and professional lives start to disintegrate. (This version aims to convey the same essence while using simpler language.)

When is the Seven Veils release date?

The movie titled “Seven Veils” is set to hit theaters on March 7, 2025. Alongside Seyfried, this film features Douglas Smith, Rebecca Liddiard, Vinessa Antoine, Mark O’Brien, Maia Jae Bastidas, Lanette Ware, Lynne Griffin, Ryan McDonald, Maya Misaljevic, Tara Nicodemo, Joey Klein, and numerous other talented actors.

The movie is crafted by Atom Egoyan, who has collaborated with Seyfried in the 2009 adult-themed thriller Chloe earlier. Interestingly, he had previously directed his first opera, Salome, back in 1996. This film is jointly produced by Egoyan, Niv Fichman, Simone Urdl, Kevin Krikst, and Fraser Ash. The executive producers are Nate Bolotin, Maxime Cottray, Adrian Love, Noah Segal, John Sloss, Nick Spicer, and Aram Tertzakian.

Egoyan stated in a press release that since he has performed “Salome” multiple times before, and knowing the Canadian Opera Company was remounting it, he saw this opportunity as perfect to combine the singers he had cast with his written script. His intention was to examine how the themes of Salome could intertwine with the process of reviving this specific production. It’s not exactly an opera film, but rather using the opera environment as a work setting, similar to any other workplace. The characters are portrayed as they move in and out of scenes, focusing on the preparations for the opera.
