Seth Rollins Addresses Possible The Shield Reunion Amid Jon Moxley’s AEW Status

WWE icon Seth Rollins has spoken about the prospect of rejoining forces with his ex-Shield comrades, Roman Reigns and Jon Moxley (previously known as Dean Ambrose). The Shield first appeared at WWE Survivor Series 2012, where they swiftly rose to prominence as one of WWE’s strongest groups.

From 2012 to 2014, The Shield ruled WWE, as each member ascended to main-event prominence. However, the trio unexpectedly disbanded in 2014 when Rollins turned on Reigns, striking him with a steel chair during one of WWE’s most iconic incidents.

Ten years on, during WrestleMania 40, WWE once again delved into this legendary act of treachery; however, this time around, Reigns managed to reverse the situation, using a chair to strike Rollins. This pivotal moment underscored the enduring influence of their narrative and the lasting significance of the original chair attack.

Following the breakup, each of the three superstars ascended to the peak as individual performers, securing Grand Slam Champion titles along the way. From 2017 to 2019, The Shield reunited on several occasions, but in a surprising twist, Dean Ambrose departed from WWE in 2019 and joined AEW under the name Jon Moxley. Even though Moxley is now with AEW, fans continue to harbor hopes for a future reunion of The Shield.

Presently, Moxley is the AEW World Heavyweight Champion, and he successfully protected his belt against Cope during AEW Revolution. Meanwhile, as Moxley excels within AEW, Rollins has spoken out regarding rumors surrounding a potential Shield reunion.

Seth Rollins on The Shield reunion: ‘One of our guys is over in the other company’

Recently on WFAN, Seth Rollins talked about his controversial turn against The Shield and the potential for a reunion at WrestleMania 31. When questioned regarding the enduring effect of the group and the possibility of them reuniting, Rollins addressed the rumors. Yet, he highlighted that one of their founding members, Jon Moxley, is now with AEW, which makes a reunion seem rather improbable.

As a passionate fan, I’d rephrase it as follows: “I make it clear that one of our teammates (Jon Moxley) has moved on to another company (AEW), so he won’t be joining us. However, Roman Reigns and I are deeply rooted in this company (WWE). Our careers have a strong connection, like our paths crossing and recrossing until we both retire. So, who knows? Who knows what WrestleMania will bring? Who knows what next month holds? It could be any time!

As an ardent fan, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment when considering the prospect of a Shield reunion. Although the flame of fan anticipation burns bright, the odds seem stacked against us, given Jon Moxley’s commitment to AEW. Furthermore, the ongoing feud between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns only serves to further dim the chances of such a reunion in the near future.
