As a seasoned analyst with years of experience in the blockchain gaming industry, I find the upcoming Squad Game Season 2 by Send Arcade to be an intriguing development. The limited number of entry passes (only 456) and the two-phase minting process create a sense of exclusivity that could potentially drive interest among players.
Having closely followed the first season, I appreciate the innovative approach taken by Send Arcade in creating an on-chain game inspired by Squid Game. The interactive survival format was engaging and unique, offering a fresh take on traditional blockchain gaming.
However, I must admit, my curiosity is piqued as to whether Season 2 will stick to the original format or introduce new elements to keep players on their toes. As a fan of surprises in games, I’m hoping for a mix of both familiar and novel gameplay mechanics.
Lastly, I can’t help but chuckle at the team’s advice: “Mint only if you wanna play this game or gift it to your friends.” Given the competitive nature of blockchain gaming, I guess that means no minting for those who just want to hoard digital items! After all, in this game, hoarding might just get you eliminated faster than playing Red Light, Green Light.
As an analyst, I’m sharing this information: On their official X channel, Arcade SEND announced the release of 456 Squad Game Season 2 entry passes, available for minting through Magic Eden. The minting process will commence on December 30th.
The process will take place in two distinct stages. The preliminary stage, known as the Whitelist (WL) stage, is exclusively for digital wallets that possess over 50,000 SEND when the initial minting announcement is made. During this phase, whitelisted wallets are given the opportunity to mint up to twice during this timeframe, which spans a duration of 3 hours, commencing at precisely 1:11 PM UTC.
In the second stage, which commences at 4:20 PM UTC, it will be accessible to everyone. As stated by Send Arcade, any wallet is qualified to join in during this phase.
Limited Utility: Entry Pass for Squad Game Only
The pass is just for getting into the Squad Game, with no additional perks. Users should get the pass only if they want to play the game themselves or share it with a friend.
This pass is exclusively designed for Squad Games; it serves solely as an access pass. It cannot be used for any other purpose. If you’re interested in playing this game or gifting it to friends, remember that there are only 456 passes available, and it promises to be a blast!
Season 2: Will It Follow the First Season’s Format?
The Squad Game is a blockchain-based competition inspired by the Netflix show Squid Game, created by Send Arcade. Magic Eden refers to it as an engaging survival game where participants from around 455 different locations face off over a three-week period for a substantial reward. With each elimination of players, the prize pot continues to expand in size. As stated by Magic Eden:
In this game, you’ll be up against 455 other participants over a span of three weeks. The ultimate reward, which is currently undisclosed, awaits the sole survivor. Throughout the competition, players will be gradually eliminated, and as more drop out, the prize money accumulates further.
In the inaugural season of Squad Game, the format mirrored that of Squid Game. To start off, contestants picked among four signs: a circle, a triangle, a star, or an umbrella. The symbol with the least number of picks was labeled as the “Elimination Sign,” and those who selected it were removed from the competition.
In the upcoming round of “Red Light, Red Light”, participants were required to possess and share an “Elimination Token” among their teammates. To stay in the game, they must transfer this token within their group. If a player sends the token outside their team or to a restricted address, they are disqualified. The individual holding the token at the end of the game is also eliminated.
In the third round titled Triple Cross, participants created both genuine and counterfeit NFTs, swapped them with teammates, then submitted one for appraisal. Deceit or treachery resulted in elimination. The “Penalty Round” offered an opportunity to bribe from the prize fund to eliminate competitors; the largest bribe decided the outcome. If no bribes were made, everyone progressed. The game ended with a traditional Rock-Paper-Scissors battle in the “Final Round”, which determined the victor through semi-finals and finals.
As a longtime fan of Squad Game, I can’t help but wonder about what Season 2 might bring. Given my extensive experience with the show, I have a hunch that it may follow a similar structure to Season 1, but with some tweaks and improvements. However, based on the creators’ history of innovation, I wouldn’t be surprised if they introduce new games mixed with the previous ones for an exciting twist. Only time will tell!
