Selling Sunset season 8: What happened between Chelsea and her husband Jeff Lazkani?

As a seasoned gamer of reality TV shows, I must say that Selling Sunset has always been a rollercoaster ride, but season 8 took it to another level. The drama surrounding Chelsea Lazkani’s relationship with her husband, Jeff Lazkani, was heart-wrenching and unexpected.

In every season of Selling Sunset, we anticipate a dose of drama, but season 8 took it to another level without holding back. Regrettably, one of the most successful real estate agents at the O Group encountered some significant personal news this time around. I’m referring to Chelsea Lazkani, and the news revolves around her relationship with her husband, Jeff Lazkani.

In the fifth season, Chelsea made her debut on the reality series ‘Selling Sunset’ and soon formed strong bonds with Chrishell Stause and Emma Hernan from the O Group real estate team. Upon her entrance, it was disclosed that she was married to a man named Jeff Lazkani and they were parents of two children. The couple appeared blissfully in love across multiple seasons, but recent developments in season 8 suggest a significant shift in their relationship dynamics.

Spoilers ahead from Selling Sunset season 8!

At the onset of season 8 in ‘Selling Sunset’, Chelsea discovers from her colleague-turned-nemesis Bre Tiesi that Jeff is unfaithful to her. Bre obtained this information from a mutual acquaintance and real estate agent named Amanda Lynn. During lunch, Amanda showed Bre text messages she received from a friend detailing witnessing Jeff kissing another woman at the W Hotel. Later on, Bre passes this information onto Chelsea during a night out together.

During her chat with Bre, Chelsea admits that she sensed Jeff was hiding something, but wasn’t sure of the details. All she knew was that there was some distance between them, and it turns out that gap was due to his infidelity.

In the latest season of Selling Sunset, I’m the one who finds out that Jeff has been unfaithful, and it’s me, Bre, who confides this heartbreaking news to Chelsea.

For the remainder of the season, Chelsea grapples with dealing with Jeff’s infidelity and figuring out how to proceed with their marriage. Although she doesn’t explicitly mention it on the show, we learn from outside sources that she eventually files for divorce off-screen.

In March 2024, before “Selling Sunset” season 8 was released, it became public knowledge that Chelsea had filed for divorce from Jeff due to “irreconcilable differences.” This news took fans by surprise because things appeared to be going well for the couple during “Selling Sunset” season 7. Even Chelsea’s 30th birthday party was filmed, and Jeff went to great lengths to make it special, even buying her a first Birkin bag. However, the reasons behind their decision to separate have now been revealed, with one of the primary factors being Jeff’s infidelity, an act that Chelsea found impossible to forgive.

Later in April 2024, Jeff answered the divorce petition by expressing his desire for a divorce too and stating irreconcilable differences as the cause. As reported by People, Jeff submitted a court document where he alleged that some of his personal possessions had vanished or been taken from their Manhattan Beach residence following Chelsea’s filing for divorce in March. In essence, Jeff was implying that Chelsea might be involved in the disappearance of his belongings.

Apart from the divorce filing, he had previously and subsequently charged her with physical aggression as well. Moreover, he asserted that he hadn’t slept in their main bedroom at home since the birth of their son. This suggests that Chelsea and Jeff’s marriage was experiencing difficulties even before the divorce proceedings. As of September 6th, it seems neither Chelsea nor Jeff have formally divorced, but they also haven’t canceled the divorce either.

Chelsea and Jeff initially connected through the dating app Tinder back in 2017, and they tied the knot on August 12 of that year. They are proud parents to a five-year-old son named Maddox Ali and a three-year-old daughter named Melia Iman. After six years as a married couple, they have chosen to part ways.

Selling Sunset season 8 is streaming now only on Netflix.
