SEAL Team’s David Boreanaz Pitches a Bones Series Revival After Season 7’s Ending

As a hardcore fan of Bones who’s been following David Boreanaz‘s illustrious career since his Angel days, hearing about a potential revival of this iconic series has me all geeked up! The idea of Booth and Brennan navigating their semi-retirement while dealing with their teenage daughter’s FBI aspirations sounds like a perfect blend of humor, drama, and suspense.

The well-liked military drama show called SEAL Team has concluded after running for seven seasons, marking the end of the saga involving the characters played by David Boreanaz, specifically his character Jason Hayes and his team, as well as their families. Known for numerous successes in television, Boreanaz previously starred as FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth for 12 seasons on Fox’s crime drama series Bones. Lately, he has been discussing the possibility of a comeback for Bones, and potential plotlines if it were to happen.

David Boreanaz open to Bones series return following SEAL Team’s ending

In a chat with Variety, Boreanaz expressed interest in reprising his role for a Bones comeback. However, he emphasized that it should be a mini-series instead of another long-running series like the original one. “Let me assure you: It’s not a priority for me at this moment in my life, but it’s the one show I would consider revisiting – and I will say, I am considering it,” he concluded.

Boreanaz mused about where his character (Booth) and Deschanel’s might be today: “It’s likely that Booth would be receiving recognition at the real FBI headquarters in Quantico. We could imagine our daughter, aged around 15 or 16, preparing for college. Given her aspirations to become an FBI agent, she might be studying tactics for this career path, causing her mother no end of exasperation. Perhaps she’d even take a forensic anthropology class as part of her studies towards becoming an FBI agent. Time will tell!

In simpler terms, Boreanaz shared that Booth might have already retired and be pulled back into a case, while Brennan would likely be writing books and receiving recognition. He also mentioned an award he’s receiving that necessitates him returning to the FBI. He jokingly added, “And then things take a turn for the worse.” Boreanaz found this plot development amusing, suggesting it could be funny because his daughter might actually be training at the FBI in this scenario.

From 2005 to 2017, the TV show “Bones” was broadcast, serving as a loosely based interpretation of the life and books of forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs. Previously, it had a spin-off titled “The Finder,” which ran for one season on Fox in 2012 before its termination.
