What else do we know about Saturday Night?

11:30 pm on October 11, 1975 marked a pivotal moment for television and culture as a thrilling ensemble of budding comedians and scribes revolutionized our screens forever. In the capable hands of director Jason Reitman and scriptwriters Gil Kenan and Reitman, Saturday Night Live’s origin story unfolds in the chaotic yet captivating events transpiring within the 90 minutes prior to its debut broadcast. Filled with laughter, turmoil, and the electrifying energy of a revolution that nearly didn’t happen, we join the countdown, experiencing every nerve-wracking moment as we eagerly await those iconic words…

As a gamer, I’d put it like this: “I’m part of this epic game where I embody Gabriel LaBelle as Lorne Michaels, Cooper Hoffman as Dick Ebersol, Rachel Sennott as Rosie Shuster, Dylan O’Brien as Dan Aykroyd, Lamorne Morris as Garrett Morris, Cory Michael Smith as Chevy Chase, Ella Hunt as Gilda Radner, Emily Fairn as Laraine Newman, Kim Matula as Jane Curtin, Matt Wood as John Belushi, Nicholas Braun as Jim Henson, Matthew Rhys as George Carlin, J.K. Simmons as Milton Berle, Willem Dafoe as David Tebet, Tommy Dewey as Michael O’Donoghue, Finn Wolfhard as an NBC page, and more characters yet to be discovered!”

The movie is created by a team consisting of Reitman, Kenan, Jason Blumenfeld, and Peter Rice. Erica Mills and JoAnn Perritano hold the roles of executive producers.

Jason Reitman is recognized for his direction of movies such as Thank You for Smoking (2005), Juno (2007), Up in the Air (2009), Young Adult (2011), Tully (2018) and Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021), in addition to several other films.
