Sardar 2 producer shares health update on Karthi and reveals shooting will resume from THIS date

During the shooting of Sardar 2‘s action-packed scene with SJ Suryah, Karthi suffered a ligament injury on Tuesday in Mysuru, as reported by 123Telugu. But don’t worry, as per the latest updates from producer Lakshman, Karthi is currently recovering from his injury.

It emerged that Karthi’s doctors suggested he should take a week’s break for rest and healing. The producer added that the actor sustained an injury to his foot while performing an action sequence, but fortunately, it wasn’t too serious. He confirmed it was indeed a ligament tear, but filming will continue on Monday, March 10.

Lakshman pointed out that because they’ve finished working on the exterior parts, the future work in Chennai will primarily involve indoor scenes.

After the triumph of Sardar towards the end of 2022, director P.S. Mithran made it clear during a gathering in Chennai that a sequel was indeed on the horizon. The news was officially broken through an exciting promotional teaser. It turned out that Karthi would once again step into the roles of Agent Sardar Chandrabose and, none other than, Vijay Prakash.

2023 saw the initiation of talks regarding the production of this movie. By May 2024, it was speculated that filming would commence in July. Approximately 40% of the movie will be filmed abroad, with locations like Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan being part of the international shoot. The team behind the film conducted a ceremonial event called muhurat puja at Chennai film city, which brought together the cast and crew.

Originally titled “Prince Pictures was behind the initial movie,” now it’s moving forward by taking on the role of producer for the sequel. Joining forces with them is Siddharth Srinivas as co-producer. The production house also shared some behind-the-scenes photos, offering a sneak peek at the team in action.

By May 2024, preparations for the project kicked off. Mithran teamed up with Rathna Kumar to pen the script. He assembled a skilled technical crew, which included cinematographer George C. Williams, production designer Rajeevan Nambiar, and editor Vijay Velukutty.

Instead of G.V. Prakash Kumar, who composed the music for the original film, the sequel will be graced with the musical talents of Yuvan Shankar Raja.
