Venkatesh Daggubati’s film Sankranthiki Vasthunam was a successful hit at the box office. Recently, there has been talk about its upcoming OTT release, directed by Anil Ravipudi. But it appears the producers have opted for a unique strategy instead, opting to bypass online streaming and air the movie directly on television screens.
Starting soon, the Telugu language action comedy-drama will be broadcast directly on Zee Telugu. They made this announcement on their social media platform, stating, “Prepare to re-experience the Sankranthi spirit again! #SankranthikiVasthunnam coming soon on #ZeeTelugu.

In recent times, it’s quite uncommon for a film to continue playing exclusively in theaters for a significant period since many films opt for online streaming platforms a few weeks after their initial theatrical release. Afterward, television broadcasting serves as the next step for movies to engage audiences beyond cinemas.
Speaking of Sankranthiki Vasthunam, this movie first premiered in cinemas on January 14, 2025. It went on to earn a staggering amount between 225 and 300 crore worldwide, becoming the top-grossing Telugu and Indian film of the year.
The film’s ensemble includes Venkatesh Daggubati as the main character, along with Meenakshi Chaudhary, Aishwarya Rajesh, Sarvadaman D Bannerjee, Srinivasa Reddy, P Sai Kumar, and other talented actors.
