Samuel L. Jackson to Lead Tulsa King Spin-off After Season 3 Role

In the upcoming third season of “Tulsa King,” renowned actor Samuel L. Jackson will make an appearance. Following this, he’s set to star in a spin-off series of the show, which is scheduled in New Orleans, Louisiana. Jackson becomes the latest big name in Hollywood to be part of a Taylor Sheridan production. Previously, Sheridan has collaborated with stars like Kevin Costner in Yellowstone, Sam Elliott in 1883, Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford in 1923, and Sylvester Stallone in Tulsa King, among others.

Samuel L. Jackson to appear in Tulsa King Season 3, lead New Orleans spin-off

In simple terms, Samuel L. Jackson is set to feature in Tulsa King Season 3 and subsequently lead a new series titled NOLA King. Similar to the initial show and other productions by Taylor Sheridan, NOLA King will be available for streaming on Paramount+.

In September 2024, as I sat down with The Hollywood Reporter about Tulsa King, show creator Terence Winter mentioned a possible spin-off, hinting that it was still under discussion. He also shared his excitement about returning to New Orleans for those delicious beignets.

As a gamer, I’m all hyped up about this upcoming show! While they’re keeping tight-lipped about the storyline, Deadline hints that Jackson might be stepping into the shoes of Russell Lee Washington Jr., a character who shares some shady connections with Stallone’s Dwight “The General” Manfredi. It looks like their paths will cross in Tulsa King’s third installment before Washington heads off to New Orleans, where he plans to build his criminal empire. Can’t wait to see how this unfolds!

Based on Deadline’s reports, Chris McCarthy, head of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios, felt that the universe of Tulsa King should be expanded in a way similar to Yellowstone. This idea led to the creation of NOLA King. Additionally, it was reported that screenwriter Dave Erickson would write this series. In the past, he collaborated with Taylor Sheridan on Mayor of Kingstown and Tulso King Season 3.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m super hyped about the latest installment of the Stallone-led series! According to recent reports from Deadline, it looks like Jackson will be hopping on board the production team next summer, July 2025. If everything goes as planned, we might even start seeing scenes being filmed as early as February 2026! Can’t wait to see how this turns out!
