She expressed her gratitude for the entire South Indian film industry, who showed unwavering support amidst online criticism. The actress from The Citadel stated, “I am here today because this community didn’t abandon me, and it is their affection and belief in me that helped me to emerge stronger.
Samantha shared that she might have taken a significantly longer time to recover from this ordeal without the industry’s support. In her own words, “I likely would have given in to my circumstances. I wouldn’t have had a reason to keep going—to rise again. But it’s due to your faith, the people seated here, that I stand before you today.
Returning to the disputed topic, the controversy arose when Konda Surekha accused BRS leader KTR of negatively impacting the lives of numerous actresses in the Telugu film industry during an interview with media. She also stated that KTR had requested Nagarjuna to send Samantha as a favor, in exchange for not tearing down his well-known N-convention center. However, after Samantha declined to comply, it is believed that this led to their separation.
Surekha stated, “KTR is the reason behind Samantha-Naga Chaitanya’s divorce.”
These contentious statements led to strong backlash from individuals nationwide. Not only Nagarjuna and his family, but they also filed a lawsuit for defamation against the minister, as she failed to offer them an apology for the offense caused to their feelings. In contrast, Surekha has merely apologized to Samantha and withdrawn her previous remarks regarding her.
