Previously, Capcom disclosed details about the Year 3 DLC for Street Fighter 6, revealing Sagat, Crimson Viper, Alex, and Ingrid as new characters joining the game. The action begins with Sagat this summer itself, and now we have a confirmed launch date for him. Interestingly, Sagat’s arrival coincides closely with the EVO 2025 fighting game competition in Las Vegas, just a few days afterward.
The launch date for Sagat in Street Fighter 6 was disclosed during this week’s Capcom Spotlight. As per the trailer, Sagat is slated to join Street Fighter 6 on August 5, 2025, which happens to be a few days following the conclusion of EVO 2025.
Pay homage to Sagat on August 5th in Street Fighter 6! 🐅
In his role as the inaugural fighter for Year 3, the ruler expects your deepest reverence or risk having your essence shattered.

Sagat, initially known as Street Fighter’s main antagonist, is one of the most cherished characters within the franchise. His upcoming return promises an impressive revival at least. Set to release on August 5th, players won’t need to prepare him for EVO, but it appears that he will retain all the charming aspects of the Muay Thai Emperor in a fresh, modern design.
Excitedly counting down to when Sagat will be available, we can’t wait to explore further details about his abilities and techniques before he’s launched. Keep an eye out for future announcements regarding Street Fighter 6!
