A preliminary deal has been struck between the Screen Actors Guild-AFTRA and various video game industry firms. It’s expected that the details of a strike postponement agreement will be officially confirmed with the employers shortly. In the meantime, the union members will continue their strike.
In a recent announcement, SAG-AFTRA has announced a preliminary deal with various video game companies, such as Activision, Blindlight, Disney Character Voices, Electronic Arts (EA), Epic Games, Formosa, Insomniac, Take 2, and WB Games. The specifics of the agreement are still under wraps.
It was verified that SAG-AFTRA’s members will continue their strike until a deal is finalized. This walkout started in July 2024, and over 98% of the members have given approval for it to proceed.

The journey for SAG-AFTRA and its members has been a lengthy one, starting back in July 2024. Nearly an entire year has passed, filled with both triumphs and challenges. Contract negotiations were resumed in October of the previous year, but progress seemed slow until recently. Just three weeks ago, they even filed a complaint about an unfair labor practice against the Darth Vader AI company.
