The latest setback, which pushes the release date to November 20, 2024, is no exception.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, the anticipated first-person shooter by GSC Game World, has encountered several setbacks in its production. One significant obstacle was Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Recently, the developers announced another delay, pushing back the release date from early September to November 20, 2024. Despite the eagerness of fans, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 requires additional development time before it’s ready for launch.
GSC Game World recently announced that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2’s release will be further delayed by two months according to a statement on X. The team acknowledged the frustration this may cause, stating, “We understand that you might be growing weary of the wait.” However, they emphasized, “These extra months enable us to address more unforeseen issues (synonym: bugs).”
On August 12, the studio plans to release an in-depth video for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, providing fans with fresh gameplay scenes, insightful interviews from the development team, and a complete guide through all the quests.
