Recently, during a chat, the Deadpool actor shared some insights about his upcoming projects, mentioning that he is currently engaged in a project that boasts an impressive lineup of stars.

Ryan Reynolds confirms upcoming ‘ensemble’ project

On the 23rd of April, 2025, Ryan Reynolds graced the stage at the Time 100 Summit. During this event, he shared insights about his journey playing superheroes and discussed future projects he has lined up.

During a recent chat, Ryan Reynolds subtly revealed some details about his current work, mentioning, “I’m currently penning a multi-character piece,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. Yet, he chose to keep the specifics of the project under wraps.

According to Reynolds’ statement, there’s much speculation about which project he might be referring to, as it may either be Deadpool & Wolverine 2 or a humorous film titled Boy Band.

Reynolds has affirmed that he will collaborate with Shawn Levy, the director of Deadpool & Wolverine, and Hugh Jackman, who is also part of the cast, on a film not associated with Marvel. In addition, Reynolds mentioned that he is working on the second draft for a movie called Boy Band, which narrates the tale of individuals in their 40s or 50s who were once successful band members but are now yearning to regain control over their lives. Given Jackman’s potential role in this film, it seems that Boy Band could be the ensemble project Reynolds was referring to during his conversation with Eliana Dockterman from Time magazine.

48-year-old actor, Ryan Reynolds, teamed up with George Dewey to establish their film production company, Maximum Effort, back in 2018. Since then, they’ve been involved in a variety of popular films such as Deadpool sequels, Free Guy, IF, and Shotgun Wedding, among others. Therefore, it’s possible that Reynolds will produce an upcoming project under the Maximum Effort banner, which could potentially be titled Boy Band.
