As a longtime fan of Marvel movies, I wholeheartedly agree with Ryan Reynolds’ plea for Wesley Snipes’ Blade to receive a fitting send-off. The impact that Blade had on the Marvel Universe cannot be overstated; it paved the way for the Fox Marvel Universe and the MCU as we know it today. Just like how Deadpool and Wolverine have become household names, Blade was the trailblazer who started it all.
Actor Ryan Reynolds, who played Deadpool and Wolverine, recently posted on X (previously Twitter), expressing gratitude towards Wesley Snipes’ portrayal of Blade. He also shared some exclusive photos from their reunion. This is significant as it’s been about two decades since they worked together in the movie “Blade: Trinity,” which was Snipes’ last solo appearance as the legendary Daywalker character.
What does Ryan Reynolds want for Wesley Snipes’ Blade?
Reynolds acknowledges that Wesley Snipes’ portrayal of Blade significantly opened up paths for the development of the Fox Marvel Universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Therefore, he proposes that Marvel Studios should honor this legacy by creating a farewell film for Snipes as Blade, much like the 2017 movie Logan for Hugh Jackman.
In simpler terms, Blade paved the way for both the Marvel Fox Universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe we know today. He’s like the “Marvel Dad.” Share this if you’re thinking of a Deadpool or Wolverine-style farewell! #DeadpoolAndWolverine

As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to share that I was part of the audience for “Deadpool & Wolverine,” a movie masterfully directed by Shawn Levy. The screenplay was brilliantly crafted by Ryan Reynolds, alongside Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells. In this action-packed third installment, we see the return of our favorite Marvel characters: Ryan Reynolds as the unforgettable Deadpool (Wade Wilson), Hugh Jackman in his iconic role as Wolverine (Logan), Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Rob Delaney as Peter, Stefan Kapicic as Colossus, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio. This film has already shattered records with a staggering gross of over $820 million at the global box office!
In this production, we have newcomers to the MCU, Emma Corrin from The Crown portraying Cassandra Nova and Matthew Macfadyen of Succession as TVA agent Paradox. Joining them are familiar faces such as Chris Evans reprising his role as the Human Torch, Jennifer Garner back as Elektra, Dafne Keen taking up the mantle of X-23, and Channing Tatum reappearing as Gambit. Alongside these characters, Deadpool and Wolverine are also making a return.
