During an interview on The Box Office podcast, Scott Mendelson posed a question to Ryan Reynolds: Had there been any talks about ending Reynolds’ Marvel Cinematic Universe character at the conclusion of Deadpool and Wolverine?
As a fan, I can’t help but ponder the idea of ending Deadpool in the final installment. Working tirelessly with Shane Reid, Dean Zimmerman, and Shawn Levy, we poured over the third act for an astounding 45 days straight to get it just right. I’m usually all about the clever use of music, but this time I found myself pushing beyond my comfort zone, embracing the power of a well-crafted score. Rob Simonsen was instrumental in our success, skillfully blending score, carefully selected music, and various elements that ultimately created the emotional impact we aimed for.
It was mentioned that Deadpool possesses regenerative abilities. In discussions, it was proposed that Wade Wilson could be disintegrated. However, Marvel preferred for Deadpool to continue appearing in stories.
Reynolds remarked that working with this individual seems promising for future projects since he’s like a secret trick, making scenarios entertaining. He expresses thoughts others might be thinking, which often helps in difficult situations.
Reynolds expressed his satisfaction with keeping Deadpool alive as he “really enjoys portraying the character.
