Ruby Rose to Star in Thriller The Drowning Pool From Saw V Director

As a long-time fan, I can hardly contain my excitement for Ruby Rose’s latest venture into the realm of dark thrillers – “The Drowning Pool.” With her extensive experience in action and suspense genres, not to mention her exceptional portrayal of Stella Carlin in Orange Is the New Black, she seems perfectly suited to tackle this mysterious role.

Actress Ruby Rose, famously known for her role in “Orange Is the New Black,” has been chosen as the lead actress in “The Drowning Pool,” a forthcoming dark thriller directed by David Hackl, who is best recognized for his work on “Saw V.”

Right now, filming preparations for “The Drowning Pool” are happening in the Canary Islands. Joel Shapiro from MagiCity Studios (known for “Killerman”) and Dimitri Logothetis from Acme Rocket Fuel (who worked on “Gunner”) will be producing this movie. Colin McNeil and Daniel Minsky are working on the script. Lee Broda, who has previously worked with May December and “The Card Counter,” will act as an executive producer.

What is The Drowning Pool about?

According to the summary, the movie is planned to take place in the Canary Islands and focuses on a sorrowful sister who’s on a quest to unravel the enigma surrounding her brother’s unexplained vanishing.

The story unfolds in the enchanting Canary Islands, where it revolves around the perplexing vanishing act of American surfer Isabelle Gray. Despite the belief that she drowned, her distraught sister Katherine remains unyielding in her quest for answers, choosing to stay in the country rather than leave things unsolved. As it turns out, Isabelle wasn’t the only woman to vanish without a trace into the sea. With minimal assistance from local law enforcement, determined and tenacious Katherine begins to unearth a series of increasingly unsettling clues. Her investigations ultimately lead her straight towards an age-old, ritualistic evil. This synopsis was provided by Deadline.
