Roman Reigns’ Return Could Cause Cody Rhodes’ Dissatisfaction, Says WWE Legend

As a passionate WWE fan with years of wrestling fandom under my belt, I find myself deeply invested in the current state of affairs on SmackDown. The return of Roman Reigns has undoubtedly brought excitement and anticipation among fans, but it’s left me concerned about Cody Rhodes’ situation.

On the SmackDown roster, WWE stars Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes shine brightly. According to WWE veteran, Jon Coachman, Roman Reigns’ comeback could potentially stir up some discontent in Cody Rhodes.

At the SummerSlam event of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Roman Reigns made his much-awaited comeback, surprising everyone with a fierce assault against Solo Sikoa. This unexpected action ignited a fresh instalment in The Bloodline storyline, capturing both fan and WWE executive interest. Yet, the increased spotlight on The Bloodline might influence Cody Rhodes, who is currently holding the Undisputed Championship title.

Despite being the uncontested title holder, Cody Rhodes has been sidelined as The Bloodline storyline steals the limelight. In the WWE event held in Berlin, Cody Rhodes was pitted against Kevin Owens in a match, sparking excitement among fans who were hopeful for a significant narrative shift. Many speculated that Owens might switch sides and confront Rhodes.

Instead, WWE opted to maintain the match as a good guy vs. good guy fight, leaving some fans wanting a more thrilling plot twist. Legendary wrestler Jon Moxley (formerly known as Dean Ambrose) has shared his thoughts on the Cody Rhodes scenario.

Johnathan Coachman on why Cody Rhodes might be frustrated

In a conversation on the “Behind the Turnbuckle” podcast, Jonathan Coachman and ex-WWE employee Tommy Carlucci discussed Cody Rhodes’ current role within WWE. Coachman voiced his worries that the heavy emphasis on The Bloodline narrative could be causing some discontent for Rhodes.

As a passionate fan, I’ve observed that Coachman pointed out how Roman Reigns’ return has undeniably shone the limelight on The Bloodline, leaving other significant storylines, like Rhodes’, somewhat in the shadows. It got me wondering why a top-tier talent like Rhodes, who deserves a lot of focus, hasn’t been getting more recognition.

He stated, “If you’re Cody Rhodes, who we love, I would be incredibly frustrated at this point. He’s making the millions and he deservedly so, but now we know that Roman Reigns calls the shots. And this wouldn’t be happening if Roman Reigns walked in, would it? And said, ‘Hey guys, don’t forget about that guy. That’s not happening.”

As a devoted fan, I couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief as Coachman explained, “What I’m aiming for is to have six or seven top-notch performers who can captivate audiences for an extended period on one show. That was my concern, and that’s why we’re making this move.” You see, it wasn’t about splitting the titles across two shows; it was about creating a consistent, engaging experience for us viewers. So, for the next four weeks, he’ll be a RAW mainstay, and when the timing is right, we’ll welcome him back to SmackDown.

Last Friday on WWE SmackDown, Solo Sikoa sent a warning to Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. He declared his plan to focus on the victor of their match after the WWE event in Berlin, the Bash. With Rhodes keeping his title against Owens, it remains to be seen if he will find himself in The Bloodline’s crosshairs again. If that happens, there’s a chance Roman Reigns might step in and overshadow Rhodes once more. We’ll have to wait and see.
