The recently released Telugu comedy-heist film titled “Robinhood” is currently garnering significant interest among viewers. Following its premiere, the movie elicited a range of reactions, ranging from positive to neutral, from the public.
Beyond its principal actors Nithiin and Sreeleela, the movie has been generating buzz due to the guest appearance of Australian cricketer David Warner. This appearance seems to be a key selling point for the film at this stage.
In this manner, the cricket player made his first appearance in Bollywood and movie enthusiasts have embraced and praised this unexpected cast member. According to OTT Play, the actor who was once a cricketer reportedly earned a substantial salary for the film.
In the movie, David Warner’s appearance was brief, but the report suggested he earned a fee of approximately Rs. 30 million. Additionally, it was disclosed that Warner filmed his scenes during the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League.
During a pre-release event for the film, actor Rajendra Prasad found himself embroiled in controversy due to his comments about David Warner. His remarks, which some perceived as disrespectful, seemed to make light of the cricketer’s situation.
The video of Rajendra Prasad’s statements spread rapidly on social media, attracting intense criticism and disapproval from viewers. Consequently, he was compelled to offer a public apology, explaining that his remarks were not meant to cause offense to anyone.
Before heading to the pre-release event, we gathered for a separate meeting filled with laughter. I playfully ribbed Nithin and Warner, and jokingly challenged Warner to show his acting skills. In response, he humorously retorted that it was my turn to prove myself as a cricketer. As a dedicated follower, I found this exchange quite entertaining!
For those who didn’t know, the movie “Robinhood” was set to premiere in cinemas for Christmas 2024. Unfortunately, its initial release in theaters got postponed due to some unresolved matters at that time. However, it eventually made its way to the big screen on March 28th.
