Robin Hood Cast Adds Game of Thrones’ Sean Bean to MGM+ Series

Actor Sean Bean, known for his role in Game of Thrones, has confirmed he’ll be joining the cast of MGM+’s Robin Hood series, a modern take on the classic English legend. This is his latest TV venture following his work on Snowpiercer last year. In this new project, Bean will portray the Sheriff of Nottingham, a role that was previously brought to life by Matthew Macfadyen in the 2010 Ridley Scott film and Ben Mendelsohn in the 2018 Otto Bathurst movie.

Who will lead the Robin Hood cast?

Jack Patten, a former football player, is set to headline MGM+’s version of Robin Hood, embodying the iconic folk hero. This will be his first appearance in television acting. Before making his debut in the upcoming drama, he’ll first appear in the action-packed sci-fi thriller War Machine alongside Alan Ritchson, Jai Courtney, and Dennis Quaid.

The 10-episode series, which reimagines a timeless folk tale in a contemporary way, is penned and co-produced by showrunner John Glenn and Jonathan English. Notably, English will also direct some episodes. Todd Lieberman from Hidden Pictures serves as an executive producer, with Carly Elter and Nicole Bryant supervising the project. This production comes from Lionsgate Television.

After the Norman conquest of England, Rob – born to a Saxon forester – and Marian, daughter of a Norman noble, develop affection for each other. They unite in their efforts to champion justice and liberty. As Rob ascends as the chief of an insurgent gang of outlaws, Marian gains access to the court’s power structure, both collaborating to counteract governmental corruption and restore tranquility to the realm.
