Robert Pattinson has shared his views on individuals who believe that his 2008 film, “Twilight,” supposedly tainted the vampire genre according to their perspective.
In every film adaptation of the popular book series penned by Stephenie Meyer, titled “Twilight Saga,” the actor portraying Batman appeared. These movies, which proved to be a massive success, accumulated an impressive revenue of over $3 billion worldwide at the box office.
Robert Pattinson surprised by fans who are still ‘sad about’ Twilight
Actor Robert Pattinson has been actively publicizing his forthcoming film, Mickey 17, helmed by director Bong Joon Ho. In a recent conversation with GQ Spain, he discussed his reactions to fans criticizing Twilight’s role within the vampire genre.
During the discussion, Pattinson expressed his feelings when the interviewer mentioned Twilight by saying, “It’s amusing to me when people continue telling me, ‘Twilight has ruined the vampire genre.'”. He further commented, “Is it still bothering you so much? Can’t you move past something that happened nearly 20 years ago? It seems quite extraordinary.
Pattinson also commented that he finds it hard to accept the ongoing cultural impact of films like Twilight, given how long ago they were first released (in 2008). He exclaimed, “Wow, really?” or possibly “I can’t believe it!
The Twilight Series comprised a total of five motion pictures. In this series, Robert Pattinson portrayed the character of Edward Cullen, a taciturn and reserved vampire who is the primary love interest. This character is central to the story’s protagonist, Bella Swan. The films significantly boosted both actors’ careers as leading players in features. However, they later diversified their roles by appearing in numerous varied projects to demonstrate their versatility.
