Robert Downey Jr. to Star in Steven Knight’s Hitchcock Remake ‘Vertigo’

A new version of Alfred Hitchcock’s “Vertigo” is in development, and writer Steven Knight considers it a “foolish endeavor” to attempt adapting this timeless movie.

Many people believe that the gripping 1958 psychological thriller isn’t just one of Alfred Hitchcock’s finest works, but also ranks among the greatest films ever made.

This timeless film has earned its place among Hollywood’s unreachable masterpieces, leading many to believe that any subsequent installment could never meet the high standards set by the initial release. However, this notion was challenged when the creator of Peaky Blinders, Knight, decided to attempt a sequel.

During an interview with The Direct for his latest Disney+ show titled “A Thousand Blows“, Knight mentioned that the idea for the “Vertigo” project was currently circulating in his thoughts during our conversation.

Previously mentioned, the new adaptation of Knight is slated for release under Paramount’s banner and will feature Robert Downey Jr., known for his role as Iron Man in Avengers: Doomsday, stepping into the iconic John “Scottie” Ferguson part that was previously held by the late James Stewart.

The Vertigo remake has no officially announced release information.
