Trigger: The article contains a mention of an individual’s death.
As an ardent admirer of Rishab Shetty, I’ve been following the making of his latest masterpiece, Kantara: Chapter 1, with bated breath. However, my excitement was dampened by the heart-wrenching news that has cast a grim shadow over the set. A fellow artist, MF Kapil, tragically drowned during the film’s production in Kollur, Karnataka. This incident happened on Tuesday afternoon, causing a sudden halt to our collective creative journey. The report from India Today paints a stark picture of the situation, and my thoughts are with the family and friends of MF Kapil at this difficult time.
Originating from Kerala, an aspiring actor named Kapil momentarily paused his filming activities to enjoy a dip in the Kollur Souparnika River. According to bystanders, he was overpowered by a powerful current. The fire department and local officials promptly initiated a rescue operation. Regrettably, his remains were found in the river later that night.
As an overly enthusiastic admirer, I’d put it this way: At the Kollur police station, they’ve officially taken notice of an incident – a regrettable accident, mind you. The authorities are currently probing the intricate details behind what transpired to uncover the full story.
This event further accumulates challenges for the Kantara: Chapter 1 team, as they have been encountering a series of difficulties recently. A short while ago, a bus transporting junior artists turned over in Kollur, thankfully without causing any injuries. Prior to this, the team experienced harsh weather conditions that destroyed a costly set. Additionally, they were investigated by forest authorities for suspected disturbance of the local environment during production.
Chapter 1″ is an upcoming movie that falls under the genre of period fantasy action. It’s a prequel to the 2022 hit film “Kantara.” The story unfolds during the Kadamba dynasty in Banavasi. Interestingly, Rishab Shetty is handling two roles for this project – he’s not just directing it, but also writing the script.
The movie is being made by Hombale Films on an expansive level, and Rishab Shetty is coming back as the main character. In this film, he will take on the role of a powerful Naga Sadhu who possesses unique talents.
The main actors for the film haven’t been formally revealed yet, but we do know who’s on the technical team. Ajaneesh Loknath is responsible for the music and soundtrack. Arvind S. Kashyap is in charge of the cinematography.
Initially, Rishab Shetty’s film titled Kantara: Chapter 1 will debut in the Kannada language. Later, it will be translated and voiced in various languages such as Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and English, expanding its reach to more viewers. Following its cinematic release, the movie is expected to become accessible for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
