Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 makers address bus accident reports

As a dedicated follower of Kannada cinema, I can’t help but feel a sense of relief and excitement upon learning that Rishab Shetty’s upcoming film, Kantara: Chapter 1, is not halted and is moving forward as planned. Having witnessed the immense success and captivating storyline of the original Kantara in 2022, I eagerly await the prequel, which promises to delve deeper into the mythology surrounding the Panjurli Daiva.

The Rishab Shetty-led film Kantara: Chapter 1 made news due to speculation that its production had stopped. However, it seems these rumors were unfounded. A reliable source close to the movie’s production revealed that shooting for the film has not been halted and has actually been taking place since 6 AM on November 25, 2024.

It was also confirmed that about 20 kilometers away from where the shooting took place, there was a minor accident involving a local bus. Remarkably, this bus carried some members of the Kantara team, yet thankfully, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

According to our sources, there’s no truth to the rumors stating a pause in filming for Kantara: Chapter 1. As it stands, the production is moving forward as originally planned, contrary to some speculations about a halt caused by an accident.

Reports initially suggested that a bus flipped over close to Kollur, Karnataka, which temporarily halted a movie production. But, it’s been confirmed by reliable sources that the incident has been resolved, and the filming is proceeding according to plan as initially scheduled.

In the upcoming movie, “Kantara: Chapter 1,” starring and directed by Rishab Shetty, we’ll get a prequel to the 2022 hit film Kantara. The creators have announced that it will hit theaters on October 2, 2025.

The upcoming movie promises to offer a closer examination of the legends and mystique associated with Panjurli Daiva. It is rumored to be presented on a larger-than-life canvas, featuring more elaborate action scenes. Notably, Rishab Shetty has been seen undergoing rigorous martial arts training for this project.

In the future, actor Rishab Shetty is preparing to collaborate with director Prasanth Varma on his upcoming film titled “Jai Hanuman”. Notably, this movie serves as a continuation and will be integrated into the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU).

In the movie, Rishab takes on the role of Lord Hanuman from Hindu mythology, as the narrative delves into events hinted at in the series “HanuMan” featuring Teja Sajja. Furthermore, it’s been confirmed that the franchise will expand with two additional films: Adhira and Maha Kali.
