Ricky Starks Addresses WWE NXT Name Change to ‘Ricky Saints’

In the most recent episode of WWE NXT, it was unveiled that the previous AEW talent, Ricky Starks, will now be known as Ricky Saints. Last week marked his entry into WWE NXT, generating significant excitement within the realm of pro wrestling.

In a surprising turn of events, he made a stunning first appearance with WWE NXT only a few days following rumors that AEW had let him go. Yet, Starks swiftly left an impression on the WWE NXT team. After his debut, WWE NXT commentators acknowledged his presence but chose to omit his name from their comments.

In the heat of the game, I couldn’t help but feel a surge of recognition as Vic Joseph pointed out, “Yep, that’s who we’re talking about. Everyone dreams of joining NXT.” And boy, was I excited when Ricky Starks officially signed his contract, all under the watchful eye of Ava, our GM!

Meanwhile, there were interjections by Ethan Page, Je’Von Evans, and Wes Lee during this part of the segment. A heated conversation between Lee and Starks ensued, culminating in Starks signing his WWE NXT contract. Upon close-up, the contract revealed his new moniker: Ricky Saints.

Ricky Starks explains the meaning behind his new WWE NXT name ‘Ricky Saints’

After his appearance on Busted Open Radio following WWE NXT, Ricky Saints spoke about the responses to his name transformation. He explained, “It’s essentially Starks, but with a twist. I’m fond of the new moniker. I understand that many people will need some time to adjust to it. I appreciate their strong feelings towards me, as they express their disapproval over the name change.

He went on to say, “Yet, I must acknowledge that New Orleans is my roots and foundation above all else. I believe this blend of influences strikes the perfect balance, which holds great significance for me. Of course, carrying a piece of home with me feels special. Regardless, I remain the same person, so things are what they are.” [Credit: f4wonline]

It’s been noted that the change in his name reflects his connection to New Orleans and maintains his wrestling persona. Next week, you can catch him on WWE NXT, partnering with Je’Von Evans to challenge Ethan Page and Wes Lee.
