As a seasoned gamer with a vast array of movies and series under my belt, I must say that the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy “Ladies First” has caught my attention, primarily due to its star-studded cast. Richard E. Grant, Emily Mortimer, Sacha Baron Cohen, Rosamund Pike, Charles Dance, Fiona Shaw, Tom Davis, and Weruche Opia – what a lineup!
I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be sharing the screen with the incredible talents of Richard E. Grant (from Can You Ever Forgive Me?) and Emily Mortimer (known for her role in The Newsroom) in Netflix’s upcoming romantic comedy, Ladies First! It’s going to be a delightful journey, I can feel it already!
Filmmaker Thea Sharrock, known for movies like Me Before You, The One and Only Ivan, Wicked Little Letters, and The Beautiful Game, is set to direct Ladies First. The script for this project comes from the talented trio: Katie Silberman (Booksmart), Natalie Krinsky (The Broken Hearts Gallery), and Cinco Paul (Schmigadoon!).

Additionally, Grant and Mortimer have been added to the ensemble that already includes Sacha Baron Cohen (from The Dictator) and Rosamund Pike (known for Gone Girl), for the upcoming romantic comedy film.
Actor Charles Dance, known for his roles in Game of Thrones and Dracula Untold, has been added to the cast of Ladies First. He will be joined by Fiona Shaw (from Killing Eve and Enola Holmes), Tom Davis (Wonka and King Gary), and Weruche Opia (Genius: MLK/X and I May Destroy You).
The upcoming storyline revolves around a callous womanizer, portrayed by Cohen, who is about to inhabit a world parallel to ours, where women dominate society. With traditional gender roles swapped, his predicament becomes increasingly challenging as he encounters a formidable female adversary (Pike), whose influence only serves to make matters more intricate.
In the production of this movie are Liza Chasin (for 3dot), along with Eleonore Dailly, Edouard de Lachomette, and Four By Two Films.
Known primarily for his roles in films such as Withnail and I, How to Get Ahead in Advertising, Warlock, L.A. Story, Jack and Sarah, and the latest series Loki, Grant is widely recognized. On the other hand, Mortimer has gained fame through her appearances in Lovely and Amazing, The Pink Panther, Lars and the Real Girl, Shutter Island, Hugo, Mary Poppins Returns, Relic, and Paddington in Peru.
The movie “Ladies First” is a version of the 2018 French romantic comedy “I Am Not an Easy Man,” originally directed by Éléonore Pourriat with titles Je Ne Suis Pas Un Homme Facile. This film, released on Netflix in 2018, featured Vincent Elbaz and Marie-Sophie Ferdane as the main characters.
Netflix has yet to announce the release date for Ladies First.
