Rhythm Heaven Groove brings beat-based minigames to Nintendo Switch in 2026

Among the exciting announcements from this week’s Nintendo Direct, one that truly struck a chord with me was the comeback of the beloved Rhythm Heaven series! In a whimsical new trailer, we were introduced to Rhythm Heaven Groove for the Nintendo Switch, filled with fun, rhythm-based minigames. This will mark the first game in the series since 2015 and is planned for release in 2026.

In this week’s Nintendo Direct broadcast on March 2025, Nintendo unveiled the upcoming game titled Rhythm Heaven Groove. The game appears to maintain the familiar elements that series fans have grown accustomed to. A peek into the gameplay revealed a collection of minigames designed to challenge our reflexes and rhythmic abilities. These games ranged from little blobs leaping through hoops, to ducks flying in formation, an assembly line worker smashing cans with a hammer, a woman catching and chopping vegetables, among other activities. Expected to release on the Nintendo Switch in 2026.

The unique video game Rhythm Heaven has brought us into contact with various characters such as 9-Volt and 18-Volt, Ashley, Karate Joe, and many others. Yet, no Rhythm Heaven title has been released for the Switch so far. In fact, the last installment in the series was Rhythm Heaven Megamix back in 2015.

Keep an eye out for updates as we inch closer to the upcoming rhythm game within the Rhythm Heaven series, set to be released next year. We’ll bring you all the fresh news and details such as the official launch date. For now, catch up on the latest articles about the captivating world of Rhythm Heaven.
