As I share this brief social media post, I’m thrilled to let you know that I recently completed the dubbing for “Retro” in a fitting style reminiscent of Cut n Rightu. In the ’90s, Karthik Subbaraj wrote and directed Suriya’s film titled “Retro,” which is a blend of romance and action. The movie carries the slogan “Love, Laughter, and Conflict” as it unfolds in a setting reminiscent of the underworld.

The movie also stars Pooja Hegde, Joju George, Jayaram, Karunakaran, Nassar, Prakash Raj, and Sujith Shankar in significant roles. Additionally, Shriya Saran makes a special appearance. Suriya himself co-produced the film under 2D Entertainment, while Santhosh Narayanan is responsible for its music composition.

Previously, creators of Retro revealed two songs, the most recent one being an upbeat wedding tune named Kanimaa. This movie, set to premiere on May 1, 2025, boasts stunning cinematography by Shreyaas Krishna and sharp editing by Shafique Mohamed Ali.

In terms of professional endeavors, actor Suriya recently appeared in the movie Kanguva, an engaging fantasy-action production helmed by director Siva. This film narrates the story of Francis Theodore, a bounty hunter who possesses a peculiar bond with a child from his previous life, dating back to the year 1070.

In this movie, Bobby Deol made his first appearance in Tamil cinema as the primary villain. Alongside him were Disha Patani, Natty Subramaniam, K. S. Ravikumar, Yogi Babu, and others, who also played significant roles.

In the future, actor Suriya is now working on his upcoming production, provisionally named Suriya 45. This as-yet-unnamed movie is being helmed by director RJ Balaji, with Trisha Krishnan playing the main female role.
