In just its first few days in theaters, the movie featuring Suriya has brought in approximately 20.50 crores rupees, and it’s predicted to surpass the 40-crore mark by the end of the weekend.
It appears that Retro is gaining significant popularity as more and more people are heading to cinemas to watch it. Given the positive response on social media, it seems the film could be well on its path to becoming a massive success.

Previously, filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj revealed during an interview with Galatta Plus that the original script for “Retro” was packed with action scenes and had been initially designed for superstar Rajinikanth.
But once Suriya became involved in the project, it necessitated substantial revisions to incorporate a romantic aspect into the plot.
Consequently, Retro might seem like just an ordinary action movie at first glance, but the romantic aspect significantly contributes to the plot – and Pooja Hegde has skillfully portrayed this heartfelt dimension.
