As a fan who’s seen AJ Styles evolve from a TNA stalwart to a WWE titan, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia at the prospect of him returning to his roots. His journey through NJPW and independent circuits was nothing short of breathtaking, culminating in his iconic Bullet Club days.
Latest news indicates that AJ Styles might return to his previous wrestling league, TNA Wrestling, where he previously gained prominence prior to joining the WWE in 2016.
For a solid twelve years, Styles was a pillar in TNA Wrestling, earning many honors and claiming several championships along the way. Once he finished his tenure in 2014, he ventured into the independent wrestling scene, competing for different promotional companies.
Eventually, styles found his way into New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), where he left a lasting impression during his short tenure. Notably, he won the prestigious IWGP Heavyweight title within the promotion and assumed leadership of the notorious group known as Bullet Club.
After excelling in various wrestling circuits, AJ Styles joined WWE at the 2016 Royal Rumble as the third entrant, taking fans by surprise. As soon as he stepped into the ring, he began making a lasting impact and eventually won the WWE Championship just a few months afterwards. Over time, Styles has left an indelible mark in WWE, with highlights such as becoming The Undertaker’s final opponent before his retirement.
As a passionate wrestling fan, I can’t help but get excited about the recent alliance between WWE’s NXT and Impact Wrestling (TNA). This union has ignited discussions about AJ Styles possibly rejoining TNA Wrestling. Although those discussions didn’t pan out, a fresh piece of information has emerged concerning AJ Styles’ role within the faction.
WWE reportedly declined AJ Styles’ TNA Wrestling Hall of Fame induction
Based on Fightful Select’s reports (which require a subscription), it appears that plans had been made to induct AJ Styles into TNA Wrestling’s Hall of Fame. Both AJ Styles and Monty Brown were potential inductees for this year. However, WWE was approached about the chance but decided not to take part in the induction ceremony in the end.
It’s not yet clear what led WWE to make this particular choice. Some inside TNA are guessing that AJ Styles’ injury or his ongoing storyline in WWE could have played a role, but it remains speculation. Yet, there is still optimism among some fans that Styles may return to his old promotion at some point down the line.
It was speculated within #TNAiMPACT that AJ Styles might consider returning to TNA for some matches. However, no information has been disclosed about whether such discussions took place. (According to @FightfulSelect)

Recently, AJ Styles engaged in a wrestling match with Naomichi Marufuji at NOAH. Many are curious if we’ll see him back in TNA Wrestling. His farewell tour was set to begin, but on the October 4th episode of WWE SmackDown, he suffered a foot injury during a bout against Carmelo Hayes. This injury has put a hold on those plans, so there’s no clear timeline for his comeback yet.
