Renukaswamy Case: Darshan Thoogudeepa moves Karnataka High Court for another bail petition, requests for an emergency hearing

As a fervent admirer of Darshan Thoogudeepa, I have watched his movies, admired his charisma, and cheered for his successes. However, the recent turn of events in his life has left me utterly dismayed and appalled. The gruesome details of the murder of Renukaswamy are chilling and heart-rending, a stark contrast to the glamorous world of cinema that Darshan inhabits.

On October 14, 2024, the Bangalore sessions court declined the bail request of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa regarding the ongoing murder case of Renukaswamy from Chitradurga. Similarly, actress Pavithra Gowda’s bail plea was also turned down during that hearing. Now, it appears that Darshan has filed an appeal to a higher court and submitted a new bail petition, contesting the previous rejection by the lower court.

According to Times Now, Darshan Thoogudeepa recently submitted a new bail plea to the Karnataka High Court, asking for an urgent hearing. Similarly, Pavithra Gowda has also requested bail through the court. The High Court is anticipated to address this issue by October 22, 2024.

For those not familiar with the situation, Renukaswamy – a fervent admirer of actor Darshan Thoogudeepa – reportedly sent inappropriate messages to Pavithra Gowda, who is believed to be close to him. This action apparently angered Darshan.

Consequently, he arranged for Renukaswamy to be abducted and confined within a small building, where Darshan and his associates subjected the captive to severe torture using physical violence and electrical shocks. This continued until the 33-year-old ultimately lost his life.

On June 9, 2024, the body of Renukaswamy was found by local officials near a storm drain in Sumanahalli, Bangalore. An autopsy showed that the victim had lost an ear, had damaged testicles, and numerous wounds and bruises scattered across his body.

Amidst their ongoing struggle for justice, an unexpected miracle occurred: Renukaswamy’s wife, Sahana, who was five months pregnant at his passing, gave birth to a healthy son on October 16, 2024. This newborn boy has brought fresh hope to the grieving family during this challenging time.
