Over the past few months, the arrest and suspected role in the murder of Renuka Swamy by actor Darshan Thoogudeepa have drawn significant focus. Lately, this actor has made headlines again, after giving the media a provocative gesture by displaying his middle finger, following his transfer to a more secure facility at Bellary prison.

According to Deccan Chronicle, there’s a viral video showing Darshan Thoogudeepa leaving his cell to greet his wife Vijayalakshmi and brother Dinakar within the assigned 30 minutes. Moreover, he has been granted a separate appointment to consult with his lawyers regarding the submitted case documents.

Initially, when Darshan spotted photographers waiting to snap his picture at the media station, he responded by flipping them off. Quickly, this incident became a viral video on social media, causing widespread astonishment.

Recently, a photograph taken on the grounds of Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in Karnataka, featuring Darshan, emerged and caused quite a stir. The image depicted the actor enjoying VIP privileges, even though he is the second defendant charged with a gruesome murder case.

After a commotion surrounding the issue, the 24th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate soon afterwards issued an order for the relocation of Darshan to a more secure facility within the Bellary jail.

On September 10, 2024, the court documents for the Renuka Swamy case were submitted, detailing an admission by Darshan Thoogudeepa of having severely assaulted the victim, resulting in their demise.

Darshan stated that he struck Renuka Swamy repeatedly, hitting both her neck and chest with a stick. Furthermore, he requested his associate and actress Pavithra Gowda to join in, instructing her to attack the victim with her shoes. This resulted in severe harm being inflicted on her.

For those unfamiliar, Renuka Swamy tragically passed away in Bengaluru on June 8, 2024. After thorough investigation and resolution, Darshan Thoogudeepa was apprehended two days later on June 11, 2024, under suspicion of being involved in the murder.
