Hulu has confirmed that Academy Award-winning actress Renée Zellweger will officially be part of the cast for Season 5 of “Only Murders in the Building,” which is currently being filmed. The announcement was made humorously, imitating Marvel Studios’ style of announcing castings for “Avengers: Doomsday.
More information regarding Renee Zellweger’s character is being kept secret for now. This upcoming TV project marks a significant return for her, having last appeared in the true crime miniseries The Thing About Pam. It has also been revealed that Christoph Waltz and Keegan-Michael Key will be joining the next season of the well-known mystery comedy series alongside Zellweger.

In the upcoming Season 5 of “Only Murders in the Building,” Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin will continue to headline as Mabel, Oliver, and Charles respectively. Their exceptional performances in Season 4 earned them Golden Globe nominations for Best Actress (Gomez) and Best Actor (Short and Martin). The series also stars Michael Cyril Creighton, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Jackie Hoffman, James Caverly, Ryan Broussard, among others. The series known as “Grace & Frankie,” which was created by co-writers Steve Martin and John Hoffman, concluded its fourth season with the long-awaited marriage of Oliver and Meryl Streep’s character, Loretta. Additionally, Tea Leoni, who stars in Madam Secretary, made an appearance as Sofia Caccimelio, a role expected to be more prominent in Season 5. The finale of Season 4 also introduced the unexpected death of Lester, the doorman at Arconia, hinting at the murder mystery that will unfold in the next season. Martin, Hoffman, Short, Gomez, Jamie Babbitt, Dan Fogelman, and Jess Rosenthal are the executive producers of this show.
