For PlayStation Plus subscribers, this stretch of time has been quite eventful, alas tainted with a fair share of unfavorable announcements like the disclosure of further price hikes and the confirmation that over 20 games will depart in May 2025. Release date for next PS Plus day-one game

On June 17th, the new PS Plus title joining the service on its first day is Firebreak (FBC) Firebreak. This game will be exclusively accessible to PS Plus subscribers under the Extra tier from the very start.

For individuals unaware, the game originates from Remedy Entertainment, the team behind hit titles like Max Payne, Alan Wake, and Control. Notably, Control serves as a close comparison since FBC Firebreak is a multiplayer experience situated within the universe of Control.

If you don’t own PS Plus or prefer to buy the game outright, it will cost £32.99/$39.99. Additionally, there will be a Deluxe edition available for £39.99/$49.99. This edition comes with a set of unique cosmetics and premium voice packs, allowing players to customize their gear and squad’s identity.

After its release, you can expect regular, complimentary updates to the game, starting with two additional mission types, referred to as Jobs. Further updates, featuring additional Jobs, are scheduled for 2026.

Once more, this game unfolds in the realm of Control, and it’s categorized as a “three-player cooperative first-person shooter”. It appears thrilling, offering an engaging experience for enthusiasts of Remedy Entertainment before the release of the Max Payne remake and Control 2.
