Starting March 7, 2025, you’ll be able to watch the film “Rekhachithram” featuring Asif Ali and Anaswara Rajan on SonyLIV. The announcement about the movie’s streaming was officially shared by the OTT platform through their social media accounts.

In their latest update, the streaming service wrote, “Unearthing an old crime and revealing hidden secrets. It’s time! Start watching Rekhachithram on SonyLIV from 7th March.

The film “Rekhachithram” revolves around the narrative of Vivek, a police officer (SHO) in Malakkappara, Thrissur, who was reinstated following a suspension. Upon his comeback, Vivek is tasked with investigating the suicide case of Rajendran, who, prior to passing away, admitted to a crime he had committed many years earlier.

With the investigation deepening, Vivek finds himself delving into the details of what Rajendran admitted, leading him into a scene reminiscent of an older Malayalam film.

The early scenes of the movie are set around a real film called “Kathodu Kathoram,” which debuted in 1985, featuring Mammootty as the main character. As a result, this film can be categorized within the realm of alternate history.

In the movie titled “Rekhachithram,” Asif Ali and Anaswara Rajan play the main characters. Besides being a mystery thriller, it also boasts a large cast of talented actors such as Manoj K. Jayan, Siddique, Jagadish, Saikumar, Harisree Ashokan, and several others in significant roles.

Additionally, the movie includes an artificial intelligence portrayal of Mammootty played by none other than the actor himself, who also provided the voiceover for this character.

In this movie, which Jofin T. Chacko is responsible for directing, the original story comes from Ramu Sunil. Together with John Manthrickal, he wrote the screenplay. The music tracks and scores in the film are created by Mujeeb Majeed, while Appu Prabhakar and Shameer Muhammed take care of the cinematography and editing respectively.
