As a seasoned gamer and a long-time admirer of Valve and Gabe Newell’s work, I must say that I was utterly astounded by the tale of ivyx123’s unique approach to gaining access to Deadlock Alpha. It’s not every day you see an email exchange between a player and the CEO of one of the most influential gaming companies in the world!

For the past few weeks, Deadlock has been undergoing its alpha stage, and it’s creating quite a stir due to its unique blend of Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) and third-person shooting mechanics.

One Reddit user accessed the Deadlock Alpha in a rather unconventional way.

So, getting access to Deadlock right now isn’t the easiest task to accomplish.

If you don’t have friends who are invited to the game, it might be challenging for you to join since membership is typically restricted by invitation only.

This particular Reddit user managed to circumvent this process by going directly to the source.

The user ivyx123 uploaded a post to the Deadlock subreddit with the title:

Ivyx123 adds:

Just wanted to give a quick shoutout to Gabe Newell! I recently reached out about the Deadlock game and was thrilled to get a response from him. It’s awesome to see such personal engagement from the big names at Valve.

It’s quite astonishing to witness a high-ranking executive from Valve responding in such a manner, and we can’t help but feel joyful for the fortunate newcomer who has joined the Deadlock community.
