As someone who lived through the golden age of cowboy stories and has a soft spot for open-world games that immerse me in their worlds, I couldn’t be more thrilled about Rockstar Games bringing Red Dead Redemption to PC platforms! After spending countless hours on consoles, I’ve longed to experience John Marston’s journey in all its high-resolution glory, and the support for 4K resolution at up to 144hz is music to my eyes.
15 years after the initial launch of Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar Games is set to introduce this critically acclaimed open-world game along with its zombie-themed expansion pack to personal computer platforms. The original Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare are scheduled for a PC release on October 29, 2024.
For the first time, Rockstar Games has announced that the journey of beloved character John Marston can now be experienced on a PC in incredible detail. The studio’s website reveals this. Red Dead’s PC version supports high-resolution displays, such as 4K at up to 144 frames per second, and also caters to Ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9) screen formats.
In simpler terms, the game Red Dead Redemption will utilize NVIDIA’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology to enhance its performance. Recently, Rockstar Games shared a new trailer on YouTube, demonstrating the game running smoothly on PC systems.
In the previous year, Rockstar released the action-adventure game from 2010 onto Switch and PS4 platforms. The titles Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare will be accessible on Steam and the Epic Games Store when they launch on PC on October 29, 2024.
