As a huge fan of both Rebecca Ferguson‘s acting prowess and the gritty world of Peaky Blinders, I’m absolutely thrilled to hear that she will be joining Cillian Murphy in the upcoming movie adaptation of the beloved series! With an impressive resume that includes roles in blockbuster franchises like Mission: Impossible and Dune, as well as critically acclaimed films and television shows, Ferguson is a versatile actress who brings depth and nuance to every character she plays.
Rebecca Ferguson will now be a part of the upcoming Netflix film production of “Peaky Blinders,” working alongside the original cast member, Cillian Murphy.
Ferguson’s character in the Peaky Blinders film is still shrouded in mystery. It has been confirmed that Murphy will return as Thomas “Tommy” Shelby, head of the Birmingham gangster family. The production for the upcoming movie is expected to begin this year.
Currently, specifics about the film’s storyline are being withheld, and it’s predicted that the action will unfold during World War II. Aside from Murphy, the identities of other cast members set to reappear in the show remain undisclosed. The Peaky Blinders narrative revolves around Tommy Shelby, whose power in Birmingham is jeopardized by Inspector Campbell’s resolve to quash his criminal empire.
Who’s behind the Peaky Blinders movie?
Approximately a month after Tom Harper was announced as the director for the upcoming Peaky Blinders film, written by its creator Steven Knight, Ferguson joined the project. Murphy and Knight will produce the movie along with Caryn Mandabach and Guy Heeley under BBC Film’s banner. The executive producers are Harper, David Kosse, Jamie Glazebrook, Andrew Warren, and David Mason.
